H2020 SME Instrument Phase 1Sustainable Compostable Packaging from Agricultural Waste Using Proprietary Moulding Technology
HORTOMOLD is a Phase 1 SME Instrument project funded under Horizon 2020 (Grant Agreement No. 762506). The project focused on developing a compostable packaging system based on agricultural waste from rice fields and a proprietary moulding process. HORTOMOLD aimed to provide a sustainable, biodegradable alternative to conventional plastic packaging, particularly for the fruit and vegetable (horticultural) sector, addressing both environmental and operational needs in agri-food logistics.
