A plant-based biofactory for the efficient production of full antibodies for use in detection, research, and medical treatment
Project funded by the NEOTEC programme to support the R&D of the start-up of the same name, with a €325,000 grant. MADEINPLANT S.L. is a spin-off of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). It produces biomolecules in plants for pharmaceutical, food and research use.
The project builds on technologies from three research groups at the Institute for Plant Molecular and Cell Biology (IBMCP, CSIC-UPV) that make it easy to produce full-size antibodies in plant biofactories. MATICAL led the strategy, design and writing of the proposal.
